Description

Cutting edge research in the field of molecular imaging for life sciences, health and related technologies is exponentially increasing. The application of imaging techniques ranges from basic research in vivo at different levels (nano, micro, cell, animal/whole body) to design and preclinical evaluations of drug targeting, clinical diagnostics and clinical therapy. This event will focus on Biomolecular Imaging, with emphasis on molecular, cellular, tissular and small animal research, as well as biomedical applications, including noninvasive diagnostics, image guided surgery, multimodal imaging and theranostics.

This event, jointly organized by B·Debate, an initiative of Biocat and Obra Social “la Caixa”, together with the Institut de Biotecnologia i Biomedicina (IBB) - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS) - Ljubljana University (Slovenia) will join top level national and international experts from academia, clinics and industry to discuss perspectives of the field and strategies to overcome the current challenges, as well as on derived impacts at the social, sanitary, economical and research-industrial fields.

Synopsis

Molecular imaging techniques for precision medicine

More and more, medicine strives for a greater level of precision. Identifying the exact process in each patient for the most precise diagnosis and treatment possible. It seeks to be more efficient and reduce side effects. And it has an increasingly important ally: imaging techniques. In order to discuss some of the most recent and important advances, several of the top experts in the world came together on 8 and 9 November convened by B·Debate, the Institut de Biotecnologia i Biomedicina (IBB) and the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS).
