Barcelona Conference on Epigenetics and Cancer (BCEC)

Debate conference series ‘Barcelona Conferences on Epigenetics and Cancer’ (BCEC), is an initiative of five reference research centers at Barcelona in order to gather together scientific experts in the research on epigenetics and cancer: Institute of Predictive and Personalized Medicine of Cancer (IMPPC), Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Program (PEBC-IDIBELL), Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) and Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona (IBMB-CSIC). The IMPPC is now the Program for Predictive and Personalized Medicine of Cancer (PMPPC) at the Institute Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP), that joined the project at 2016, together with the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC).

The series consists of five editions (2013-2017) leaded by each of the corresponding research centres, where fundamental aspects of cancer biology and epigenetics or the development and exploitation of this knowledge for new cancer treatments are addressed.

Among the most important challenges in biomedicine is to understand the role of chromatin and epigenetics in human health and disease. During last 15 years, epigenetics has consolidated as a new multi-disciplinary field on its own with an enormous scientific and therapeutic potential for cancer and...Llegeix més
13/10/2016 to 14/10/2016
Over the past few years, the genomes and transcriptomes of thousands of tumors have been sequenced. This information has revealed an enormous diversity of tumor genotypes and it is helping personalize the treatments of cancer patients. However, despite these advances, it remains a major challenge...Llegeix més
Coding and Non-Coding Functions of the Genome. 2015 BCEC
29/10/2015 to 30/10/2015
The 3rd of the five meetings planned in the series of Barcelona Conferences on Epigenetics and Cancer (BCEC) will be co-organized by B·Debate and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). The 2015 BCEC will integrate the burgeoning field of epigenetics with the underlying processes of chromatin...Llegeix més

01/10/2014 to 02/10/2014
One of the biggest challenges in biomedicine today is understanding how signal pathways regulated by the interaction of genetic programming and environmental factors impact on the epigenetic plasticity of chromatin in health and disease. This knowledge could be exploited for the generation and...Llegeix més
